We colored it with plant-based dyes in deeper, practical tones, because a kitchen mat needs to hide the reality of daily cooking a little better than a pale bedroom rug does. It's best hand-spot-cleaned or gently washed on a cold, delicate cycle and air-dried flat, since machine heat can affect the wool fibers over time.
